SWAS Implement Continuous Availability Hardware (04/02/2008)
South West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SWAS) chose MIS-SE to supply and install two top of the range Stratus ftServers to host their mission critical MIS Alert.C3 CAD System. SWAS needed a hardware infrastructure that could deliver 99.999% or better uptime which is why a continuous availability server hardware platform was recommended and selected over the traditional two-node cluster configuration.
The solution also uses a combination of SQL Server real-time database mirroring for additional business continuity protection and transactional replication to provide scale-out performance for reporting and business intelligence services.
